Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most frequent and troubling emotions we all experience at some point in our lives. Putting these experiences into words involves a panoply of human faculties that comprise the core of treatment. Through the process of understanding and meaning-making, together we can help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you may once have had in your life or may have always been looking for. Let us not assume anything about your suffering. Let us instead discover the complexity and richness of your experience, in all its pain, sadness, loss, fearfulness and worry as well as its liveliness, joy, contentment and happiness. As the story goes, I also fell in this hole, and I know the way out.
Individuals from every walk of life may experience painful, debilitating, sometimes disabling symptoms reverberating throughout their internal worlds as well as their endeavors and relationships emanating from traumatic events, sometimes starkly singular in shock and tragedy, sometimes gradual and insidious in covert familiarity. Anxiety, fear, vigilance, depression and despair are but a few emotions that can linger and grow following traumatic events and circumstances. Together we can sort through these painful and frightening experiences, towards a goal of overcoming these symptoms and guiding you through the process of grief, healing and restored hope.
We suffer in particular patterns and from longstanding constructions of who we are in the world. We may know something about these or we may be confused as to why our troubles seem to repeat and our feelings are more of a source of trouble than expression for us. Together we can understand how you experience yourself and others in the world, where the sources of satisfaction and pleasure come from and where there is this quality of painful disconnection with others and within ourselves. By learning about and understanding you and your history of emotions deeply, we can help you break out of unhelpful cycles and reconfigure the mosaic of your relationships, and your identity and ways of being.
