I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed to practice in Washington, D.C., and Maryland. I have experience working with people from various backgrounds, spanning a diverse range of ethnicities, identities, abilities, family structures, and social and cultural heritages, with challenges in the community and private settings. Every person is highly individual in their differences, with unique experiences, perspectives, history, development, and current understandings and difficulties. From my own experience, I know how important it is never to assume anything and to be curious about every aspect of the human experience. Along with the sense of "detailed inquiry" this suggests, I am continually reminded of the famous quote by Harry Stack Sullivan: "All of us are much more human than otherwise."
Psychology and human behavior have been my passion for most of my life, and I have been training to become a therapist for many years. My professional journey started with studying psychology in Europe in the early 2000s to become a psychologist. After moving to the U.S., I went back to graduate school, focusing on my long-term goal of practicing as a therapist in the United States.
I graduated with a Master's in Social Work from the Catholic University of America. I completed the Clinical Program on Psychotherapy Practice at the Washington School of Psychiatry and am currently a student in the Psychoanalytic Studies Program at the Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis. Today, I am grateful and honored every day to practice therapy and pursue being a lifelong learner.
I am fluent in English, French, and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian. If you have any questions about therapy and if my practice is a good fit for you, do not hesitate to send me an email or give me a call. I am looking forward to meeting you.
If you are thinking about therapy, you may be experiencing difficulties in your personal and/or professional life. You also might be interested in understanding better what and why you feel the way you do, what might be holding you back or preventing you from reaching your potential, and maybe even how to get better control of your life. Whatever your starting point is, therapy can be the most crucial step toward effecting the changes you want and need. My personal and professional experiences have taught me the catalytic value of listening, understanding, and connection between people as a tool to bear together and overcome life's challenges. Therapy is a journey of two people on an uncharted path toward developing together understanding, insight, resilience, and new ways of adapting, learning, and managing life, to bring about meaningful, lasting change. Wherever you are in your journey when we meet, I will be committed to joining you where you are and staying steady by your side as we explore the known and the unknown, the familiar, the new, and the unexpected, while developing and elaborating a vision for your unique and highly individual transformation and destination.
